EcoFarm Conference January 26 - 29, 2011
Asilomar in Pacific Grove, California
Animal - Mineral - Vegetable - e-Lectrical!

Art by: Sarah Rabkin

Welcome to the 31st Annual Ecological Farming Conference – Animal, Vegetable, Mineral, e-Lectrical! This conference has been connecting all of the elements of farming and natural foods into a cohesive whole for 31 years. This year we celebrate the fact that a holistic, ecological view of food and farming is driving a national conversation about personal, public and environmental health.

Conference - At - A - Glance

EcoFarm New Media Center

Sick of reading #gibberish? Wondering where all the @ signs came from? Wondering about the “e-Lectrical” part of the theme?

The EcoFarm New Media Center is just for you!  We have never had more options for peer-to-peer information sharing. The way we create and consume news is in the middle of the most radical restructuring since the invention of the printing press. Point of sale information technologies and cell-phones make it possible for you to speak directly to your consumers even if your product moves through conventional distribution channels.  EcoFarm is committed to staying on the cutting edge of information sharing and direct marketing and to helping you stay there too.

We are making a New Media Center available starting Wednesday afternoon and during Conference sessions A-G. Drop by for one-on-one help with setting up Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts and take a guided tour of some of the most influential and interesting on-line discussions of news and information about food and agriculture.

Check back here for a schedule of special events and guest-hosts including Dave Murphy of Food Democracy Now!

Also see Local Dirt in the EcoFarm New Media Center! Local Dirt is the new online marketplace - your site to buy, sell, find, and feature local produce and products. Come to this teach-in to learn everything about Local Dirt and how to use it for your operation.

EcoFarm Conference Smart Phone App

We even have our own smart phone app! Our generous sponsor Grupio is providing the official smart phone app for the 2011 EcoFarm conference. Watch our Twitter feed for information, then download the Grupio app for paper-free, hand-held information including maps, session summaries, speaker bios, vendor locations, special parties and to see what other conference attendees are thinking and doing.

Thanks to our sponsor Grupio, helping us put the e in e-Lectrical!
