Mankind, especially within the last hundred years, has been in formidable conflict with his environment. This conflict has been one of the most influential factors on planet Earth, mainly because the human species has always given the first priority to his own interests without giving much regard to the needs of other living things on Earth, where he has to share his environment. Such an approach of the human species created unrepairable and multidimensional problems on our environment. These problems, which have been significantly increasing since the beginning of the last century, are the major concern for all of us, both at the local and global scales.
Suppose we consider two hundred thousand years of human existence on planet Earth as 24 hours; then, the last 25 seconds of this time interval could correspond approximately to the last 50 years. All the scientific evidences indicate that the destruction caused by human species within the last 25 seconds (i.e., 50 years) is more than 98 % of the destruction caused within the past 23 hours and 59 seconds (i.e., 199.950 years). That is why this colloquium is planned to be held in Antalya between November 17 and November 20, 2011, bringing together the Humboldt Scholarship holders and other scientists concerned with ecology and environment to discuss the related problems and possible solutions.
Being a Humboldt scholarship holder is a privilege in many ways. During this Humboldt Colloquium which is titled “VI. International Symposium on Ecology and Environmental Problems”, studies of scientists related with problems on ecology and environment will be discussed and evaluated. Humboldt scholarship holders as well as other prominent researchers who are concerned with ecology and environment are cordially invited to the symposium.
Organizing Committee
General information:
VI. International Symposium on Ecology and Environmental Problems will be organized by Ankara Alexander von Humboldt Fellows Society on November 17-20, 2011 in Antalya
Symposium will be supported by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Bonn, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Akdeniz University and Hacettepe University, and possibly by Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey.
The symposium will be held in English with simultaneous translation to Turkish.
As it is known, Turkey is in process of preparing the environmental file to join to the European Union, which increases the importance of the symposium.
The symposium will include the following topics:
Environmental education
Environmental law and philosophy
Chemical and physical pollution in ecosystems and the measures to be taken
Tourism and environment
Alternative and environmentally friendly energy
Biological Diversity (Biodiversity)
Environment and urbanization
Paradox between ecology and economy
Energy and Environment
Health and environment
Art and environment
Other subjects related to environment

VI. Internationales Symposium zu Ökologie und Umweltproblems wird von der Ankara Alexander von Humboldt-Stipendiaten Verein am 17-20 November, 2011 in Antalya veranstaltet.
Symposium wird von der Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung in Bonn, Umwelt- und Forstministerium, Akdeniz- und Hacettepe Universitaeten und eventuell Turkische Forschungs-und Technische Anstalt: TUBITAK unterstützt.
Die Symposiumssprache ist englisch, aber werden die Beitraege ins Türkisch simultan übersetzt.
Wie wir wissen, hat die Türkei für den Eintritt des europaeischen Gemeinschafts die UMWELTMAPPE” vorzubereiten. Dieser Zustand macht die Wichtigkeit des geplanten Symposiums noch effektiver.

Genel Bilgiler:
VI. Uluslararası Ekoloji ve Çevre Sorunları Sempozyumu, Ankara Alexander von Humboldt Bursiyerleri Derneği tarafından 17-20 Kasım 2011 tarihlerinde , Antalya’da düzenlenecektir.
Bu Bilimsel toplantıda Alexander von Humboldt Vakfı Genel Merkezi; Çevre ve Orman Bakanlığı; Akdeniz ve Hacettepe Üniversiteleri (ayrıca muhtemelen TUBİTAK)'nin katkıları söz konusu olacaktır.
Sempozyum dili İngilizce olup, eş zamanlı olarak Türkçe'ye çeviri yapılacaktır.
Bilindiği gibi şu anda Avrupa Birliği Müktesabatında Türkiye "Çevre" dosyasının hazırlığını sürdürmektedir. Bu durum yapacağımız bu bilimsel toplantının, önemini daha da artırmaktadır.
